August Tag Swap

I was in an August tag swap and I chose to make one that stood out based on my interest as an artist.

My favorite look is vintage distress when making a piece. I chose to use a tea died tag as the background as the base.

I then incorporated several embellishments, a vintage photo, the use of a sewing machine and of course mared my work.

Here is a picture of the finished tag and I hope you enjoy as much as I did when making it.

Thanks,

Mom's birthday card

My mother turned 77 in August. She is a woman I adore, love and look up to for strength. This year with the passing of my father has been a challenge emotionally.

I wanted to make a card that relate to my mom's interests. She loves quilting and sewing. I received a very large button as a free gift and thought what will I ever do with this when I got it.

Then it hit me to use on my mothers card. Here is what I made her and am glad I found a great use for the button.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Sister Carlene's bday card Aug2014

My sister Carlene had a birthday on August 4th. She turned 50 and I chose to not make that a focal point when making here card.

I used tim holtz framelit Sizzix birthday die set. I am loving the cupcake and the dimensional application it gives you.

Here is the card I made here, some what simplistic, but a great card in my opinion.

Amy's Canvas

I started a new job in June of this past year. I wanted to make one of my direct reports a canvas. So I decided to do this canvas.

I love the way it turned out and the layering I completed. The making of the clipboard was great fun. The effect I achieved I felt made it look life like.

As with all projects I make they proudly display tim holtz product. I am always addicted to what he comes out with. I would venture to say I own 90% what he releases.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014 -August.

I absolutely loved making the August Tim Holtz tag. It really pulled together a variety of techniques and effects that drove my passions in being an artist.

Here is what I made. I made two tags one similar to his and one using different products.

The picture below is my version.

I am a HUGE lover of tim and this was amazing.
