Special card made to lift spirits

I wanted to share a card I made for someone to give to a great friend of theirs. She has been struggling with her health, being positive and keeping the love of life.

Here favorite color was pink and she always loved dressing up.

Hope you like and have a great day.

Tim Holtz- June 12 tags of 2014

The tag for June from Tim Holtz is impressive this month. I absolutely love the watercolor effect used when creating this months tag.

I also like how Tim continues to have me want items initially thought I don't need. I at first was not going to buy the mini distress ink pads and mini blending tool. But then when I saw the versatility of these it hooked me.

In prepping to make this months tag (June) i assembled the needed supplies... (Shown below)

I then started the steps to making this tag. The ability to create colorful backgrounds and dimensional look for this tag was so much fun.

Here is my tag and what fun it was to make.

I hope you get a chance to make this great tag and have one for your own.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Birthday Card made

Here is the birthday card I made for Pap Burkett. I wanted to achieve a really masculine feel and vintage distress look.

So for this card I chose to use a neutral but bold color pallet. I also the wanted to incorporate embellishments and a vintage ruler to complete the look.

Here is pap's finished card. I hope you like and let me know if you have questions.

Tim Holtz themed tag swap

I am in a artist group and we had a swap in June. The theme was to complete your version of Tim Holtz May tag for the round robin person you were assigned below.

This tag theme and though of creativity came from Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014. That was the basis for my creativity source. However, in this tag I really wanted to have my style and vintage feel.

I made this tag for a close crafting buddy called Rox Boyce that lives in Australia.

Here is a picture of what I created and so glad she loved this tag.

Work in-process where I am trying to figure out the layout and embellishments to use.

Finished tag

I hope you like my project and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Kind regards,

Mixed Media Tag - Deanna Lilly

I wanted to share a tag that I made utilizing several Tim Holtz techniques and products.  I made this tag for Deanna Lilly a new friend I have met through the love of my crafting.  This tag was so much fun to make and incorporated my love for vintage and distress.

I think I am beginning to find my style as an artist and so many creative people to thank for this - Tim Holtz, Karen Knight, Michael Farrell, Kaz Hall and the list could go on.  Thank you all to being such great inspiration in my love for this hobby.

Pay it forward - Karen Knight & Dawn Haskell

Earlier this year on my facebook page I ran a post that read - pay it forward / random act of kindness.   I decided to share in a great idea where you provide someone else with a random act of kindness that warms their heart.

So I completed a post and asked people to provide me with what their favorite color was, if they could have one craft item would it be and to give me a small ounce of detail on themselves.  From there I select two random winners and I sent them a goodie bag and this was done at random draw.

Karen Knight was the first the random # generator selected. She is a great friend of mine and one that I hold dear.   So here are two projects I made her that I included in her special surprise package.

Dawn Haskell was the second random # pulled.  She is another great talent and awesome lady to share ideas with.  Here is a tag I made her.

I plan to continue doing this initiative annually just to give a little ounce of joy to someone's life.

Thanks
