This year my Dad's birthday I wanted to make him his own canvas and a card that he would love.
My father as a kid loved old cars and I remember him speaking of Route 66.
So the card I made I took the theme of vintage with a mixed media flare. Here is a picture below:
His canvas I made I tried to achieve a masculine distress vintage style. When making the canvas I uses tim holtz distress paints and stains to develop the background. I wanted to archive a shuttle pop of color that would show through in the canvas and remain masculine.
Here is the canvas and I love how it turned out.
Thanks,

I have a deep passion and drive to create art that will make someone smile, and my studio allows me to do this. Having a dedicated studio space allows me to tap into my artistic side and provides a refuge from the world. My area of expertise is making unique cards and tags with a distressed vintage feel by intentionally fading and marring my work. My proudest moments as an artist are when I hear and see how my creations have lifted other peoples spirits.

March Artist Choice Tag swap
I am in a craft group called Createexchange and I serve as one of the admins for the group. March 2014 was a swap that I was to manage and come up with a theme. I decided for this months swap to make it the artist choice when making the tag.
My thought was so that it gives each individual the capability to create a tag that defines them as an artisit or show what they love. Here is the tag I made and I had Kaz who provided me inspirtation when making this tag. Kaz is a designer for Tim Holtz and I love all her design work.
I wanted to tie in some new released items of Tim Holtz into my tag as I am a HUGE fan of Tim Holtz. I probably own part stock in his company with the stash i have in my art studio on his products - LOL
In this tag I wanted to incorporate a vintage charm with elements of wood, sewing and distress.
Here is the tag and I am so glad that may partner loved the tag I made.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you have any questions on this project or what items I used let me know.

March Breanna B-day canvas
My niece Breanna had a birthday on March 27th. I asked her would she prefer that I make her a canvas or buy her clothes. An her response was that she would prefer a handmade project of mine.
So I wanted to make her something that really had a vintage feel and tie in an element of using the sewing machine with various stitches.
Breanna is big on family and I love her so dearly so below is a picture of the canvas I made her.
I used authentique paper and many other elements to create this piece.
I hope you like.

Anniversary card 15 years
Happy Saturday all...
It has been awhile since I have blogged. It is crazy how work and life get in the way of having fun. Well I most recently shared my 15 year anniversary with my partner and am so grateful to have him in my life.
I wanted to make a anniversary card that really was vintage but had some form of steampunk look and feel. Here is a picture of the card I made for our anniversary.
I hope you enjoy this card and thanks for stopping by my blog.

April Tom's B-day card
Good afternoon, I wanted to share the card I made for my partner Tom. I wanted to make a very special tag for him that incorporated the stitching from the sewing machine.
I have really started using the sewing machine in my projects to add that next dimension and affect to my projects.
In this card I took random pieces of patterned paper and stitched the paper together. I then took some ribbon the has a ruler print and stitched that over the paper.
I then finished it off with a few embellishments and word blocks.
I hope you like and thanks for stopping by my blog.

St Patricks day card
I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to share the St Patricks day card I made this year.
I always find it very hard to find things to design for this holiday. So I cut my list down to a smaller number when making for this holiday.
This year I chose to go with a more simplistic card design but have the St Patricks theme.
I hope you enjoy the card I made and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Tim Holtz - March 12 tags of 2014
The March tag for Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014 is to be a way to kick off spring.
This months tag was a challenge for me on technique. However, the step by step instructions he provides is a great guide to learning how to make this tag.
Each month I begin to make his tag of the month I first start by gathering up all my supplies... (As seen below)
I then start by reviewing the instructions and start then by beginning my tag.
Here is my tag (number three attempt) but I tried. I plan to come back and try to master this at another date in the future.
I hope you have a chance to make this great Tim Holtz tag and kick-off spring.
Thanks,

Butterfly canvas project - Feb14
Good evening, I wanted to share a canvas that I made for Chris Buttanda. I most recently met Chris and he told me he likes butterflies. So I decided to make him a canvas that showcased butterflies and incorporated my style of distress vintage.
I really liked how this canvas turned out as I incorporated many elements. I used a mixture of items, dies, textures, embellishments from my Tim Holtz stash.
I hope you like - TMCreative-Trent
