This year my Dad's birthday I wanted to make him his own canvas and a card that he would love.
My father as a kid loved old cars and I remember him speaking of Route 66.
So the card I made I took the theme of vintage with a mixed media flare. Here is a picture below:
His canvas I made I tried to achieve a masculine distress vintage style. When making the canvas I uses tim holtz distress paints and stains to develop the background. I wanted to archive a shuttle pop of color that would show through in the canvas and remain masculine.
Here is the canvas and I love how it turned out.
Thanks,

I have a deep passion and drive to create art that will make someone smile, and my studio allows me to do this. Having a dedicated studio space allows me to tap into my artistic side and provides a refuge from the world. My area of expertise is making unique cards and tags with a distressed vintage feel by intentionally fading and marring my work. My proudest moments as an artist are when I hear and see how my creations have lifted other peoples spirits.
great card! I love the tire tracks all on the right hand side, great visual. Came across the article about you in he latest Cloth Paper Scissors Studios magazine, inspired to go to your blog. Love what youve done with your studio.
